Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 8 October 2026 · Applies to the My Votebank app (Google Play: com.myvotebank.vote; also on the App Store) and myvotebank.app
My Votebank has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These standards apply to everyone who uses the My Votebank app and website, and to all content on them: polls, comments, profiles, photos, groups, pages, community rating events and messages to our team. They form part of our Terms of Use.
1. What is prohibited
My Votebank strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation in any form. You must not use My Votebank to create, upload, share, request, link to or promote:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, drawing, AI-generated or computer-generated content, or text that depicts or sexualises a minor (anyone under 18)
- Grooming: contacting, befriending or building trust with a minor for sexual purposes, or asking a minor for sexual images, conversations or meetings
- Sextortion: threatening or blackmailing a minor using intimate images or information
- Trafficking of minors, or advertising or soliciting a minor for sexual or commercial exploitation
- Content that sexualises minors, including sexual comments about a child, or that normalises, praises or excuses child sexual abuse
- Sharing a minor’s personal details (name, school, location, photos) to target, harass or exploit them
- Directing others to places on or off My Votebank where any of the above can be found
These rules apply to public and private content alike, including private groups, private pages, anonymous comments and profile photos.
2. Age requirement
My Votebank is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and we ask for your date of birth at sign-up. Accounts that we find belong to someone under 18 are closed.
3. How we prevent abuse
- Every account is verified with a mobile number and a one-time password, which makes throwaway and repeat accounts harder to create.
- Every poll, comment, page, group and member can be reported from inside the app, and any member can be blocked.
- Reported content is reviewed by our moderation team, which can hide content and suspend or permanently ban accounts.
- Banned users cannot return by creating a new account with the same mobile number.
4. How to report child safety concerns
- In the app: tap the menu on any poll, comment, page, group or profile and choose Report. Pick the reason that fits best; every report is reviewed by a person.
- By email: write to support@myvotebank.app with “Child safety” in the subject line, and include a link or screenshot of what you saw if you can do so without sharing illegal material.
- To the authorities: if a child is in immediate danger, call 112 (India) or your local emergency number. In India you can also report online child sexual abuse material at cybercrime.gov.in or call the Childline helpline on 1098.
5. How we respond
When we find or are told about content or behaviour that breaks these standards, we:
- Prioritise the report and act on it as quickly as possible, and always within 24 hours
- Remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved
- Preserve relevant information as required by law so that it is available to investigators
- Report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the appropriate authorities, including the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal in India and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement requests related to child safety
6. Legal compliance
My Votebank complies with child safety laws that apply to us, including India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, Section 67B of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as well as the child safety requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
7. Child safety contact
Our designated child safety point of contact can answer questions about
these standards and our CSAE prevention practices, and receives
notifications from app stores and authorities:
